I did mean to say under $5000.00. All I will do is mow with it and mayby pull a cart to do light gardening, hauling yard debris, and christmas lights. I did have a Cub Cadet LTX1050KW but with the slope on the yard and me being a large guy I could tell it was putting a strain on the transmission. After about 30 min of cutting on the slope it would start lsoing power so I would shut it off and let it cool down before I finished. I sold it while it still had less than 30 hours on it becuae I knew down the road I was going to have issues. New holland dc75 dozer repair manual. I was looking at the John Deere X500 which is slightly over $5k new. It would also be great to find a reconditioned X700 in the same price range, but it will probably been pretty worn to get one at that price point. The X320 is right in my wheelhouse price wise but I don't know if the Kanzaki k58 transmission will have the all terrain capacity of a k-66. You guys are the experts here, that is why I come to you for help. Thanks for the info on the Dixon. Tuff Torq T40j Vs K46acJun 8, 2011 - Someone at tuff torq will do it but the cost is about $600. The local Husqvarna dealer was trying to hook me up with a GTH 24V52LS with a fabricated deck with a lifetime warranty. It has a 24 HP V-twin Kawasaki motor and a Hydro-Gear transmission but I don't know what model. They are going to offer than model with a locking differential rear axle in 2013 for around $3400. I just don't know if that will do the job. Personally, I think that the Cub Cadet GT 2100 ($3,599.00) or GTX 2100 ($4,099.00) would work for you. The only difference between the two is that the GTX has 'Electric Power Steering'. I'd pass on that and go with the manual steering. They are only available at Cub Cadet dealers. You won't find them at a box store. In any event, no matter what tractor you end up with, you should seriously consider either Ag or HDAP tires. Those will give you better traction on your hill and be less likely to spin and tear up the lawn. The new Craftsman tractors with the K66 and K72 are Simplicity made but sold with frame hung decks in lieu of the floating Simplicity decks. For the price difference I would go with a Simplicity (I am biased, obviously) as the quality of cut with their deck is top notch. In the Simplicity line you would be in the Conquest (K66) and Prestige (K72) which both have diff locks as well as traction control which I would have classified as a sales gag until I owned one. If you go used you can save a bunch of money as they float in the $3k (Conquest) and $4k (Prestige) range. Not that there is any real performance difference between them, the Prestige uses the K71 tranny and not the k72. Both have around 410 ft lbs of torque and same forward speed. I interpret that the k71 has some form of traction control built in that the k72 does not have, at least not that i have ever read. Both have manual differential lock.Another vote for Simplicity. My Landlord DLX with 50' deck has the K71 tranny but no differential lock. I picked this one up for about $1500 with a turbo bagger. A consideration though with 2 wheel drive is that when they lose traction they can have a serious problem. Going uphill, you stop going forward. When going downhill you plummet out of control and better go the direction gravity is taking you or you risk a rollover. Hope nothing gets in the way. I have a 2011 GT6000 AYP/HOP with a G730 rear.Used it so far with no pulling problems. All of my land is rough and hilly or sloped. What ever you what to call it. Right from the start my tires were filled at 98 lbs each at 4psi.Me at 210 lbs.Rear hitch and rack add about 50 lbs. So that's just normal added 456 lbs when mowing an area around 500' x 500' all up n down. Then add another 200 lbs when I add the sprayer and boom on the rear rack. So that's 656 lbs 6 times per year up n down that area plus the other flat areas.
